Women empowerment Forum
WIE-NUCES held this unique event on the 10th of February 2010. We discussed the life stories of some of the most prominent women of Pakistan. Guest Speakers who joined us were Musarat Misbah (activist for women empowerment), Major General Dr.Shahida Badsha (the only female General in the Pakistan Army) and other successful women from the fields of engineering and sciences. A unique fund raiser to help build schools all over the country. Students from many schools and universities came to participate and break the iliteracy in Pakistan. Stalls of beaconhouse liberty campus girls were the most charming! Girls from O and A levels from Beaconhouse participated to make the event colorful. LSE and LUMS also participated. Graphic Designing Competition
WIE-NUCES held a competition to test competitorsskills in Photoshop and their flair for creativity and style. Prize money worth upto Rs. 3000 was given to the winner Mohammad Zeeshan from FAST-NUCES. Teams from G.C.U and Bahria University Participated and competed to show their creativity!

05. 01. 10 | IEEE Lahore Section Student Congess 2010
The first ever IEEE Lahore Section Student Congress 2010 and the IEEE Lahore Section Annual General Meeting were held at Government College University, Lahore. The events were panned out over 3 days (5th to 7th January, 2010) and included educational as well as entertaining activities. The main focus was on the role of IEEE in students’ professional and community lives.
Activities such as “Debut spunk”, “WIE indigenous creativity spark”, “Stall Trimming Festival” and the “Leadership workshop” involved the students and encouraged them to work together as a team. The WIE team participated in these enthusiastically.
Branch presentations were given by the heads of each IEEE and WIE team, and they informed the audience about their previous and upcoming events. Mansoor Ahmad, Maryam Saeed and Ayesha Fayyaz, who represented FAST-NU, were received with enthusiastic applause.
Certificates were handed out to winners of the activities and to all the participants as well at the closing ceremony.

Events Organized by WIE in IEEE Week 2010:
8th February 2010 | Geek Race (Only Girls)
Venue: FAST-NU, Lahore
Time: 9 amJust like last year, participants of this year’s Geek Race will be tested in four areas: coding, circuit building, puzzle solving and a quiz relating to general knowledge. Teams need to consist of three or four members to participate in this competition.
9th February 2010 | Graphic Designing Competition (only girls)
Venue: FAST-NU, Lahore
Time: 9 amThis competition is designed to test your creativity at an individual level as well as your designing ability at a national level. The medium used will be Adobe Photoshop.
10th February 2010 | Women Empowerment Forum
Venue: FAST-NU, Lahore
Time: 1:30 pmThis year, IEEE WIE-NUCES proudly brings you a forum devoted to dealing with all the issues and problems women face when they enter any field of applied science. Women working in different fields of engineering with extensive experience have been invited to encourage and address questions that new women entering this field might have.
